We are working on the implementation and adding the models to our system. However, a full integration will take time as a certain historic period is required for our machine learning to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the new models in order to consider them properly in the consensus forecast. However the display of just raw model output in maps and multimodel diagrams will be released much earlier as that is a much easier thing to do.

My Trust in Weather Models for the North/Baltic Sea Region For my region along the North and Baltic Seas, I primarily rely on the ICON-D2 model. It offers the highest resolution and is particularly well-suited for local weather conditions—perfect for accurate forecasts along our coasts. If I need to look further ahead or consider areas outside the ICON-D2 coverage, I turn to ICON-EU, which is also highly reliable. An interesting alternative is Meteoblue AI, which performs very well in many situations. However, I still prefer the ICON models as my go-to choice and compare them with Meteoblue AI when needed to get an even better picture. What are your experiences with these models? Are there any others you particularly trust in our region?

The cloud cover percentage shown in the left column of the Stueve diagram represents total cloud cover, divided into low, mid, and high cloud layers, and does not specifically isolate convective clouds. Convective clouds are treated as a separate variable in meteoblue data and are not included in the total cloud cover percentage. However, the Stueve diagram does include convective parameters such as convective updraft in the point+ subscription. Additionally, convective cloud base, top, and vertical extent are available separately in meteoblue forecasts and APIs.
