Where I live, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, the map and cross-section often show the asterisk (*) symbol for convective clouds, even though I frequently observe stratus clouds. How do you determine that there are convective clouds and not another type of cloud? For example, today Meteoblue says there are convective clouds, but the reality is that there are stratus clouds. As a result, areas north of the Arctic Circle, including northern Scandinavia, are not displayed on radar or satellite maps. There is no setting to extend radar or satellite coverage beyond these limits. For weather information north of 66° N, meteoblue offers meteorological model-based data and local weather details through meteograms up to 90° N, as well as tools such as MultiModel, rainSPOT, and rainNOW for precipitation information.
