Hello, and thank you for your question. The precipitation anomaly in meteoblue climate change data represents a deviation from the weekly or yearly mean but is not always calculated simply as the difference between the year mean and the historical mean. The anomaly calculation may include additional statistical methods or reference periods beyond direct subtraction. Furthermore, ERA5 precipitation data incorporates various precipitation types and is influenced by spatial and temporal resolution limitations, which can explain consistent differences such as the 10mm offset you noticed. Updates to datasets, model changes, and reanalysis methods can also contribute to these discrepancies. We hope we were able to answer your questions and wish you pleasant weather with meteoblue.

Hi, thanks for asking! This is partially explained here. In short: rainSPOT shows accumulated precipitation over a rolling period ending at the displayed time, so the values shift with the hour, they're not fixed for the day. At 15:00, for example, you'd see: Hourly mode: precipitation from 14:00–15:00 3-hourly mode: precipitation from 12:00–15:00 Hope that clears it up :) Out of curiosity: how frequently do you use rainSPOT? Is it one of your favorite functionalities?

As part of our cooperation program for scientific or humanitarian projects, meteoblue offers students and researchers free access to historical weather data for 3 locations through our history+ interface and to weather forecast data through our Free Weather API. Free Weather API is an automated meteoblue product and the easiest way to test the meteoblue weather API. It is available for free for one year, and includes 10 million credits. For historical data, we provide a free access to our unique weather archive through history+ (for up to 3 locations) or with a high discount (for more locations or complex requests) for as long as you are using our standard data without special requirements (this includes and requires correspondence in English). The historical weather data available through the history+ interface are simulation data with high precision (stored forecasts, not measurements). Usually, they are more precise than measurement data from a station more than 10 to 50 km away from the desired location, they will be 100% complete (which very seldom happens for measurements), much more detailed (everything based on hourly intervals), available since 1940 and valid also for places without measurements. More information can be found here. All other services and products can be provided by meteoblue upon request at a 50% discount from the list price. For scientific and humanitarian projects, we can provide support - free of charge - with our standard products, within a cooperation agreement and within the possibilities of professional technical assistance, in the following languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. For access to our free cooperation agreement, we request that the conditions for cooperation are met, and that you provide the following complete information : Title and objective of the work: Type of work: (Project, bachelor, master, private or another) Name and address of university or responsible organisation Department or organizational unit Name and address and e-mail of the author(s) & official address Name and e-mail address of the supervisor & official address: Planned beginning and end of work (dates): DD.MM.YYYY Short description of the methodology for use of meteoblue data.

Hi, thanks for the input :) Currently, meteoblue does not provide an option within the app to switch between the day-month (DD/MM) and month-day (MM/DD) date formats. The English version of the website uses the month-day format common in American English, and while requests for a European-style day-month format have been noted, no user control for changing the date format is available at this time. Date and time displays are influenced by language and regional settings, but there is no confirmed timeline for adding this feature.
